Financial statutory - Section 172 (1) Statement

Robert Half UK helps people find rewarding work and clients find the right talent to grow their businesses, and our goal is to adhere to the highest ethical standards when doing so. This commitment is reflected in our policies and programs that support universal human rights; respect the diversity of our employees, customers and business partners; form the foundation of our philanthropic endeavours; and protect the environment in the communities we serve.

Long term consequences of decisions and maintaining high standards of business conduct

Behaving with integrity has been a core value since Robert Half UK’s founding more than seven decades ago. It remains central to our operations and corporate culture and drives a continuous focus on the maintenance of durable relationships with our stakeholders and maintaining our reputation.

Our emphasis on business ethics is one reason clients and candidates continue to turn to Robert Half UK and we employ what we consider to be the best team in our industry. People want to do business with and work for a company they can feel good about, understanding our clients, candidates and employees needs will always have an impact on any decision making.

One of our key mission statements is to adhere to a philosophy of "Ethics First" in everything we do. This steadfast commitment to "Ethics First" provides the behavioural framework for our relationships with fellow employees, candidates, clients, shareholders and vendors. Honesty, integrity and professionalism are the core principles of our business and the board of directors along with a wider senior management team and committees who drive the overall company strategy make sure these values are demonstrated in their leadership approach.

Identification of, and engagement with, stakeholder groups

Robert Half UK demonstrates ongoing commitment to corporate and social responsibility through our compliance policies and we recognise that meaningful engagement with our key stakeholders is integral to the Company's continued success.

Our Workforce

Our employees are our most valuable asset. We make every effort to provide a great work environment that connects them with opportunities to grow and thrive. We are committed to supporting human rights and providing equal opportunity and advancement to all employees and stakeholders across our entire value chain.  In 2019 we strengthened our programs, focused on employee engagement with feedback surveys, professional development, inclusion and diversity training.

Our investments in technology allowed us to transition all staff to full-time remote working at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, enabling us to ensure the health and safety of our workforce whilst continuing to serve the needs of our candidates and clients.

Our Supply chains

Given the industry in which we operate we do not have an extensive supply chain network. Our supply chains include, amongst others: office supplies including stationery, IT hardware and software, cleaning and catering services, advertising and print services, office fit out and maintenance services, and professional services. We identify and assess the risk of potential slavery and human trafficking risk areas in our supply chains using a number of factors including the requirement for all suppliers to agree to comply with the Modern Slavery Act.   We continue to publish our payment practices in line with the Reporting on Payment Practices and Performance Regulations 2017 and on average across our supply chain it takes the company 13.4 days to pay our suppliers with 93% of all invoices being paid within 30 days.

Our Candidates

Robert Half UK continually looks to improve the candidate experience with our consultants working with our candidates to understand their career goals and find the right job that is the right fit for them. Robert Half is pleased to offer our candidates a comprehensive online training program. With a library of over 8,000 courses, we offer a wide range of topics including accountancy, finance, auditing, administration, HR, technology and project management all through Skillport. We also undertake training on updating CVs and preparing candidates for interview and sharing local hiring trends. We ask our candidates to complete surveys following their assignments to continually improve our service
Robert Half UK has created a solution giving our candidates the ability to securely connect to our clients networks via loaned laptops and AWS cloud connectivity thus enabling them to have the option of remote working should that be required.

Our Clients

We assist businesses in locating the talent they need to succeed and expand. To engage with our clients successfully we need to understand their requirements. Our unique approach, expertise, technology and robust resources power our ability to connect clients with experienced professionals who are a great fit for the positions the client needs. Our staff are provided with tablets to enable them to visit clients on site and provide them with hiring information. We continue to invest in our candidate/client portals to ensure the best possible user experience.

Our Communities

Robert Half UK's global volunteer and philanthropy programs are central to our social responsibility efforts. Robert Half UK encourages our employees to take the lead through volunteer work and fundraising activities that support the issues that matter most to them personally. 2019 was a record breaking year for fundraising events for the Company's chosen charity of the year MIND.

Our Environment

We are committed to decreasing our environment impact and in 2019 we took steps to better quantify, reduce and report our environmental footprint. Robert Half has a global environment committee whose mission is to conduct business in a way that protects the environment, conserves resources and endures sustainable development.
